We contract coaches internationally, from diverse walks of life. HG Coaches are independent contractors who hold a coach certification from the HG Institute, or a comparable program.

Who are HG Coaches?
HG Coaches are certified professional peer coaches. They are trained through recognized programs like ICF or NBHWC, ensuring they are highly qualified to guide their clients. HG Coaches create a safe, non-judgmental space, fostering compassion and understanding as they help clients navigate personal and professional challenges. By focusing on growth, they instill hope, empowering clients to set and achieve meaningful goals. Through authentic and tailored approaches, HG Coaches build trust and maintain genuine connections. They stay present in every interaction, ensuring focused, mindful engagement with their clients. Above all, HG Coaches uphold the highest ethical standards, demonstrating integrity, maintaining confidentiality, and consistently acting with professionalism.
What qualifications do I need to become an HG Coach?
We’re looking for individuals who are/have:
- A valid coaching certification from an accredited program such as ICF, NBHWC or similar.
- Dependable - You recognize that you have a professional and ethical responsibility to your clients.
- Present and engaged listener - you don't feel the need to "fix" anyone and are committed to meeting the client where they are at. You're authentic and approachable.
- Open-minded to diverse backgrounds and identities (religion, race, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, political affiliation, age, etc)
- Calm and cool in any situation. You have experience dealing with a variety of clients and customers and maintain professionalism.
- Organized, and motivated to create a positive impact
- Great written and verbal communicators
- Being bilingual is a plus!
How do I apply to be an HG Coach?
We're always looking for new coaches to help make an impact on our community. We contract coaches in Cohorts, and aim to recruit a new cohort every few months. If we’re currently hiring for the role, you can complete the application. Otherwise, join the waitlist to be notified when we start recruiting new coaches!

What if I don’t currently have a coach certification?
If you don’t currently have a coach certification, you are welcome to explore the HG Institute’s Coach Certification. The HG Institute Coach Certification consists of 2 weeks of lectures and workshops, followed by 8-10 weeks of certifying sessions. We plan to launch a new certification in 2025. What if I already have a coach certification from another institute (ICF, NBWHC, etc)?
HG also recognizes and accepts coaches who have been trained and certified through the International Coaching Federation (ICF) at a minimum of the Associate Certified Coach (ACC) level or through programs approved by the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) and similar programs. If you are an international coach or are unsure if your certification meets those requirements you can have your certification reviewed and verified by the HG Institute here.
Why is this an independent contract role?
The HG Coach role is a contract position because we value your time and want to give you the freedom to work whenever and wherever suits you best. The independent contractor classification allows us to easily accommodate coaches all over the world.
