Psychiatrist Provides Mental Health Support To Gamers On Twitch Livestream

Alok Kanojia, a Harvard-trained psychiatrist, has launched a Twitch live stream — Healthy Gamer GG — where he discusses online harassment, depression and self-criticism with popular gaming guests. Known as Dr. K, the 37-year-old says that he never intended to be a streamer, he simply wanted to reach out to the gaming community.

In October, Kanojia and his wife, Kruti, 35, founded Healthy Gamer, a company that manages a network of video game coaches, who are trained after undergoing a lengthy interview process. Coaches are expected to have good communication skills, knowledge of gaming, and a willingness to help others.
