The New HG Membership

On today’s episode of WTH has the HG Team been working on…. 🙂

Hey! Kabir here—Product Manager of all community experiences at HG. We've been hearing from a lot of you about frustrations with the YouTube memberships experience. Many of you said you enjoyed the content but found it tough to actually implement the lessons.

Quests were appreciated but hard to follow through on.

VODs were hard to find and keep track of—old videos got lost, and we kept getting the same requests over and over.

YouTube, while great for hosting content, just wasn't the best solution for organizing content in a way that actually helps create change in members' lives.

So we took what was working and upgraded the experience on a new platform where content meets community.

Today, we are thrilled to unveil a major upgrade to the Healthy Gamer Membership experience, live now! Explore the new features and join at members.healthygamer.gg.

Overall, our goal was to blend organized content with a deeper, more engaging community experience. What we landed on was an experience with enhanced quests, discussion and learning opportunities, and much more to come! In addition to the existing perks from memberships, like voting on content and live Q&As, there will be several bonus features that come with the new platform.

Key upgrades include:

• Global Access
  • Previously, HG Membership access was limited, as it was blocked in certain regions (due to YouTube restrictions). Memberships are now open to everyone, everywhere!
• Streamlined Onboarding Experience
  • We received a lot of feedback on our onboarding experience (or lack thereof). This is one of the biggest things we wanted to address with this update. When new members join, they will now be taken through the different spaces where they can:
    • Voice their topic ideas
    • Vote on upcoming topics
    • Find relevant quests to help implement lessons from lectures into their lives
• Organized VOD Library & Courses
  • Another big pain point among our members was the lack of organization of our VODs library. Our new platform allows members to easily find and navigate through VODs and courses, addressing feedback about locating specific content.

• Centralized Community Experience
  • The community is now fully centralized for a seamless, more integrated experience. Enjoy dedicated spaces to connect, collaborate on activities, and take part in interactive events! So, say goodbye to Discord setup confusion. Our new platform makes joining and participating easier than ever.

And, this is only the beginning. We have tons more in the works! Here's a peek at some of our upcoming features:

• Topic Primers: Our first “Primer” on Life Purpose is live and completely free for all users (membership not required)!
• New Courses: The first course we're working on is centered around spirituality, with more on the way.
• Skill and Community Building Groups: More details coming soon about new groups aimed at skill development and community building.
• Workshops: Stay tuned for a special announcement this Friday regarding an exciting new workshop series.
